Nutrition is our Mission
The mission of the Franklin Community School Food Service Department is to provide children with access to food, a healthful diet, and nutrition education. Through our breakfast and lunch programs we provide children with more than the daily nutrient requirements that are also consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2010. We strive to provide quality nutritious meals in a friendly environment to enhance and support all students’ ability to achieve academic excellence while forming healthy life long eating habits.
Upcoming Events
Celebrate School Nutrition Employee Week, May 7-11, 2012.
School Nutrition Employee Week was created by the School Nutrition Association to highlight the hard work cafeteria employees do all year round. School food service staff contribute significantly to the health and well-being of children by providing nutritious meals. In turn, this positively affects students’ ability to focus and learn better throughout the day. This week, the SNA encourages directors, managers, parents, teachers, students and school administrators to do something special for their school nutrition employees. Just by showing your gratitude will make them feel special.
